DENTON, Texas (June 6, 2025) – Since its grand opening in April, Target’s second store in Denton – a 147,000-square-foot retail destination – has delivered unmatched style, affordability, and convenience to one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation. As part of Target’s commitment to open more than 300 new stores over the next decade, Denton North stands out for its robust assortment and community-rooted team.

“Denton is hardworking and full of heart – and for too long, people here had to travel outside their community for the basics,” said Store Director LaShon Henderson. “Now, this Target belongs to them. We’ve hired over 200 team members, many of whom are from right here in Denton, and we’re investing in more than just a store – we’re investing in people, opportunities, and local pride.”

Target Denton North features an expansive fresh and frozen food section, including organic produce, a full-service bakery, deli, and affordable meats – all supported by Target’s nearby Dallas sortation center and Denton supply chain facility.

Strategically located near the campuses of the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University, the store offers students, faculty, and residents a convenient and welcoming place to shop for essentials, grab a coffee, or pick up a last-minute item between classes. With Denton’s growing student population exceeding 50,000, the store is ideally positioned to serve the unique needs of these academic communities.

“We’re more than just a store – we’re part of the community,” Henderson said. “Whether it’s volunteering, supporting local schools, or just being a friendly face, we’re dedicated to being there. When customers walk into Target Denton North, I want them to feel right at home – to see someone they know and trust, because this is their store, and we’re here to serve them.”

The Target Denton North store embodies the spirit and diversity of the community, encompassing both longtime residents and the city’s vibrant student population. As the store continues to grow, Henderson is committed to making it a true community hub, delivering excellent service while supporting local jobs and economic growth.
