Denton, TX, Nov. 3, 2024 – The City of Denton will observe Veterans Day with facility closures and adjusted services on Tuesday, Nov. 11. Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 8 a.m. Residents are advised to take note of the following changes:

Facility Closures

  • Airport: Administrative offices closed. Air traffic control tower open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; airfield open 24 hours.
  • Animal Services and Shelter: Closed; reopens Nov. 12 with waived adoption fees for veterans and first responders, half-off for others.
  • Libraries: All locations closed; regular hours resume Nov. 12.
  • Municipal Courts: Closed; online and phone payments available 24/7.
  • Parks and Recreation: Civic Center, Denia Recreation Center, MLK Jr. Recreation Center, Senior Centers closed; other facilities operate normally.
  • Utilities: Customer Service closed; reopen normal hours Nov. 12.

Service Adjustments

  • Solid Waste & Recycling: No collections on Nov. 11. Services delayed by one day for the rest of the week. Monday collections remain on schedule.
  • Public Safety: Personnel on duty; non-emergency number is (940) 349-8181.
  • Denton 311: Available via the Denton311 app and both mobile/landline numbers.
