The City of Denton has announced the lifting of Stage 2 watering restrictions as of October 8, 2024, following the successful repair of two damaged filters at the Lake Lewisville Treatment Plant. This transition marks a return to normal water service levels for residents and businesses in Denton.

The Stage 2 Drought Contingency Plan was initially put into effect on August 20, after three consecutive days where daily water treatment capacity was exceeded due to the damaged filters. This led to the introduction of stricter water conservation measures, including limiting outdoor irrigation to once a week.

With the repairs now complete, the City has reinstated regular watering schedules. Residents with even-numbered home addresses can water on Tuesdays and Saturdays, while those with odd-numbered addresses may do so on Wednesdays and Sundays. Commercial and multi-family properties are permitted to water on Mondays and Thursdays.

City officials express their gratitude to the community for their patience and ongoing commitment to water conservation. For more details on water conservation tips, the watering schedule, and additional resources, community members are encouraged to visit Water Wise Denton.
