The City of Denton Streets Department will micro surface select streets across the community from Sept. 9 through Sept. 29 as part of the city’s preventive maintenance program.

Micro surfacing is used on streets that are still in good condition to help preserve pavement quality and extend the roadway’s lifespan. The work will include both residential streets and major arterials.

Residents may see single-lane or full street closures while crews are working, depending on the location and scope. Each micro surfacing segment typically takes 4–6 hours and will be applied between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Roadways will be completely inaccessible to traffic until the application has finished curing. Residents will not be able to enter or leave their homes by car while work is underway on their segment.
