DENTON, TX, Aug. 26, 2025 – The Denton Fire Department (DFD) has earned a prestigious three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), achieving a perfect score across all 107 accreditation standards.
Through an independent review process, the accreditation confirms that DFD delivers exceptional organizational performance, clinical quality, and risk reduction. Denton Fire Chief Kenneth Hedges remarked, “For our community, this accreditation is a clear assurance that patients are receiving the highest-quality care and that the local medical community can count on us as a trusted partner. Joining an exclusive group, DFD is now one of only 34 fire departments in the United States and Canada to earn CAAS accreditation, and one of four departments in Texas. This three-year accreditation highlights DFD’s commitment to maintaining high-level emergency medical services for residents, businesses, and visitors in Denton.
