DENTON, TX – The vibrant community of Denton is set to experience a spectacular fall evening as the City hosts its much-awaited City Block Party on September 28, 2023. This gathering is not just another community festivity. It is an amalgamation of the National Night Out Kickoff and the State of the City events, offering Denton residents a dual delight.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Denton Civic Center and Quakertown Park (located at 321 E. McKinney St.), attendees are promised an evening filled with interaction, excitement, and memories.

Hoping to bridge the gap between City officials and residents, this party offers a unique chance for locals to converse directly with police officers, firefighters, City staff, and Council members. It’s more than just a meet-and-greet; it’s an invitation to understand the backbone of Denton and its vision.

For those keen on understanding more about public safety, community development, parks and recreation, and more, the event has numerous booths. Each booth is an information hub, complemented by engaging games and delightful giveaways. But that’s not all!

A sea of attractions awaits families—bounce houses for the kids, exhilarating lawn games, and an unmissable ‘touch-a-truck’ exhibit where city vehicles are on full display. For the more adventurous spirits, a dunk tank will be present, offering attendees a chance to dunk notable community members. And when hunger strikes, a plethora of food trucks will be ready to satiate those cravings.

Speaking about this novel initiative, Mayor Gerard Hudspeth remarked, “This event truly captures the heart of Denton. We’re more than just residents here; we’re a community. We’re excited to strengthen our ties and celebrate what makes Denton unique.”

Entry to the City Block Party is free, making it an irresistible event for all Denton locals. For continuous updates and more details on this event, visit the City of Denton’s official website.
