DENTON – Mark your calendars for an epic silver anniversary celebration! The Denton Blues Festival returns for its 25th year from September 15th to 17th at Quakertown Park, brought to you by the Denton Black Chamber of Commerce.

Beginning its journey in 1998, the Denton Blues Festival has grown to become an integral part of the town’s vibrant heritage. For a quarter-century, the festival has been a canvas where blues artists, local and renowned, paint the town with soulful melodies.

The festivities will kick off with a Community Karaoke Battle, paving the way for a stellar lineup of artists over the weekend. Headlining the event this year are two remarkable acts: Big Bill Morganfield™ on Saturday and The Keeshea Pratt Band on Sunday.

Big Bill Morganfield™, son of the legendary Muddy Waters, is more than just a legacy act. A multi-award-winning blues artisan, his music is a tapestry of stories that echo the spirit of blues across generations.

On the other hand, the Keeshea Pratt Band from Houston offers an enthralling blend of blues, Motown, and more. Their unique mix of genres, led by Keeshea Pratt’s mesmerizing vocals, has secured them first place at the 2018 International Blues Challenge.

Beyond the music, the festival promises a plethora of activities. Attendees can indulge in an array of culinary delights, shop from local vendors, and enjoy various arts and crafts. Moreover, parents are encouraged to bring their kids along for a fresh introduction to the blues. In an era dominated by screens, the festival offers youngsters a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich history and energetic performances of the blues.

In celebrating its 25th year, the Denton Blues Festival is not just about the music but also about community, legacy, and the traditions that have kept the blues alive. Whether you’re a blues enthusiast, a local resident, or a visitor from afar, this is an experience you won’t want to miss.
