Denton, TX – Aug. 15, 2025 – This weekend, the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Parade returns to Denton at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16. In conjunction with the event, parking restrictions and road closures with detours will be in place around the parade area.

The following street closures and detours will be in effect from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Closure Details:

  • Parkway Street between Carroll Boulevard and Elm Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
  • McKinney Street between Bolivar Street and Locust Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
  • Elm Street between Parkway Boulevard and Prairie Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
  • Prairie Street between Elm Street and Locust Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
  • Locust Street between Prairie Street and McKinney Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.

Detour signs and instructions will be posted prominently with electronic signage along the affected routes. 

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based on evolving or unexpected conditions. The public should adhere to posted parking restrictions and utilize designated public parking locations or ride share services. 

Due to an increased pedestrian presence, motorists could encounter delays in the vicinity of the event and may wish to consider alternative routes. Businesses located within the footprint of the event will remain open per their normal business hours.
