Denton Stories

Listen to Story

On the evening of Thursday, October 26th, the skies and grounds of Denton Enterprise Airport will be alive with the enchanting allure of Halloween! For the first time ever, the airport is excited to invite families from all corners of Denton and beyond to the HALLO-WING TRUNK or TREAT event, set to begin at 06:00 PM.

An Event Like No Other

For one enchanting evening, airplanes transform into charming Halloween stations where children, adorned in their favorite costumes, can traverse from one aircraft to another, collecting treats and creating memories. This magical experience promises a twist to the traditional neighborhood trick-or-treating, offering a delightful and safe environment amidst the mesmerizing backdrop of airplanes.

In the words of Chase R. Patterson, the Airport Operations Manager, the inception of this event is rooted in the airport’s dedication to community engagement and nurturing a growing interest in aviation. HALLO-WING is not just a Halloween event, but a gathering that bridges the wonders of flight and the spirited charm of Halloween.

What’s on the Runway?

Attendees will have the delightful experience of trick-or-treating amongst approximately 15 aircraft, mainly consisting of small single-engine airplanes. Each aircraft, a treat station, promises a blend of visual delight and Halloween surprises.

Moreover, the Fire Department will grace the event with the ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting) Truck on display. The juxtaposition of airplanes and this unique fire truck promises visual spectacles for both the young and old.

Admission Details

In the spirit of community, the HALLO-WING TRUNK or TREAT is an open invitation to the public, completely free of charge. There are no tickets or registrations required, making it a hassle-free experience for families looking to immerse in a unique Halloween celebration.

A Collaborative Spirit

While this inaugural event is an internal city initiative, the collaborative spirit shines bright. Sheltair, the Fixed-Base Operator (FBO), plays a pivotal role, assisting in the tugging and parking of aircraft, ensuring that the display is as mesmerizing as the event promises to be.

Looking Ahead

As the Denton Enterprise Airport, located at 5000 Airport Rd. Denton, TX 76207, opens its grounds for this inaugural celebration, the future gleams with possibilities. The success of this year’s HALLO-WING TRUNK or TREAT could herald an annual tradition, expanding to include more activities and attractions, making the airport a Halloween destination for years to come.
