Denton, TX – The Emily Fowler Central Library will temporarily close its doors for a scheduled renovation starting Monday, August 19, 2024, with plans to reopen on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. This closure is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the library’s facilities for the Denton community.

During the closure, the library’s book drop is expected to remain available for patrons to return materials around the clock, although there may be occasional interruptions due to the renovation work. For those needing an alternative, the book drops at Denton’s North Branch and South Branch Libraries will continue to operate 24/7.

For library users who have placed holds for pickup at the Emily Fowler location, these materials will remain on the hold shelf for an extended period after the branch reopens, allowing for the standard 7-day pickup window. Additionally, Wi-Fi access will continue to be available in the parking lots of all Denton libraries, ensuring that patrons have internet access during the temporary closure.

The library is set to resume its regular hours on August 27, and the public is encouraged to visit the library’s website for any further updates regarding the renovations.

The temporary closure aims to improve the overall experience for library visitors, and the library staff appreciates the community’s understanding during this time.
