DENTON, TX – The sun is shining, tails are wagging, and the community is buzzing with excitement for the Dog Days of Denton 2023! Hosted by the Denton Parks Foundation, this year’s event promises to be a spectacular celebration of our beloved four-legged friends.
Scheduled for September 9, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Quakertown Park and Civic Center Pool, the event will feature a plethora of activities that will have both humans and their furry companions barking in delight. From dancing dogs to canine couture, there’s something for everyone.
Highlights of the Event Include:
- Doggie Bandstand: Inspired by the iconic Dick Clark and American Bandstand, this event will see dogs and their owners dancing to tunes from the 1950s. The duo with the best “wiggle butt” moves will be crowned the winner.
- Dog Singing: Be prepared to be serenaded by a chorus of howls and barks as dogs of all sizes showcase their vocal talents.
- Canine Couture Costume Contest: Witness the runway magic as dogs strut their stuff in imaginative and stylish costumes.
- Pet Tricks Galore: From synchronized dances to acrobatics, dogs will showcase their incredible talents, leaving the audience in awe.
- Splash Off Contest: As temperatures soar, watch as dogs dive and swim in a splash-filled competition.
- Biscuits and Belly Rubs: Vendor Village: A haven for dog lovers, offering an array of dog-centric products and delicious treats for the pups.
- The Bird Dogs Live Performance: At 12:30 PM, the Bird Dogs will take the stage, delivering a powerful blend of Texas-country and rock music.
Special appearances by Denton Spiderman and Dog Mayor, Happy, will add to the festivities, ensuring a day filled with fun and memories.
