DENTON, TX, May 21, 2025—Denton Enterprise Airport has garnered significant recognition at the 2025 Texas Aviation Conference, securing both the National/Regional Airport of the Year and Project of the Year awards. These accolades highlight the airport’s strategic developments and contributions to Texas’s aviation landscape.
The Project of the Year award was bestowed for the airport’s notable $22 million overhaul of its main runway, stretching 7,002 feet. This endeavor was marked by meticulous planning and execution, allowing for completion without disrupting airport operations. This achievement underscores the collaborative efforts of Denton Enterprise Airport’s staff and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), fortifying its standing as a pivotal regional hub for aviation.
The Airport of the Year award reflects Denton Enterprise Airport’s dynamic progress throughout 2024. In the last year, the airport not only upgraded its infrastructure but also initiated a comprehensive financial analysis and master plan update. The airport hosted various community-centered events, notably the Hallo-Wing trunk-or-treat, which successfully attracted thousands of locals. Additionally, the airport introduced an Aviation Exploring program targeting high school students, and strategically leased over half a million square feet for aviation-related developments.
