DENTON, TX – The City of Denton is proud to announce the appointment of Kristi Fogle as the new Chief of Staff, a decision made by City Manager Sara Hensley following an extensive national search. This pivotal role will see Ms. Fogle at the helm of intergovernmental affairs, legislative strategy advancement, policy development, Council engagement, and the leadership of organizational initiatives. Additionally, she will oversee operations within the City Secretary’s Office.

City Manager Sara Hensley expressed her enthusiasm for the appointment, highlighting the importance of a skilled workforce in providing top-tier services to the city. “Kristi’s rich background in legislative matters, coupled with her knack for enhancing government operations and constituent services, aligns perfectly with our goals for the community,” Hensley stated.

A native of Denton, Fogle returns to her roots armed with a wealth of experience from her time in Austin, where she played a significant role in the political scene. Her career journey in the state capital saw her evolve from a policy aide to a chief of staff for several Texas State Representatives, providing her with a broad perspective on legislative processes and intergovernmental relations. Fogle’s tenure at the Austin Chamber of Commerce further equipped her with valuable insights into policy coordination and advocacy at various governmental levels, enhancing her expertise in managing complex stakeholder engagements.

Reflecting on her new role, Fogle shared her excitement about contributing to the city’s development and collaborating with the talented team in Denton. “I am thrilled to be back in my hometown, where I can apply my experiences and passion for public service towards the betterment of our community,” she remarked.

Fogle’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Social Work from Texas Woman’s University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work, specializing in public policy and nonprofit administration, from the University of Texas at Austin. Her comprehensive background in social work and public policy is expected to bring a fresh perspective and innovative approaches to tackling the city’s challenges and opportunities.
