The 395th Army Band, with a rich history dating back to World War II, will be performing a series of free concerts in Texas next month. The band, known for its musical support across the Southwest, is offering these performances to the public.
The first concert is scheduled for Saturday, July 6, at 2:00 p.m. at the Golden Triangle Mall. This event will feature an 8-piece Brass Band. Later that evening, at 7:00 p.m., the entire concert band along with the 395th Big Band will perform at the Denton High School Arts Center. Both concerts are free and open to all ages.
Originally constituted on August 2, 1943, as the Band of the 95th Division, the 395th Army Band was organized in Louisiana and served in several key campaigns in Europe during World War II, including Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe. Over the years, the band underwent several redesignations, eventually becoming the 395th Army Band in 2008. Based in Mustang, Oklahoma, the band provides musical support to seven states in the Southwest (U.S. Army Center of Military History) (US Army) (U.S. Army Center of Military History).
The community is encouraged to attend these concerts and enjoy the diverse musical offerings. For more details, the public can visit the band’s social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
