City Facilities Closed July 5

DENTON, TX, June 30, 2021 – City of Denton facilities will be closed on Monday, July 5 in observance of the Independence Day holiday and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6. Please note the following with respect to specific City of Denton services and facilities.

Libraries

All libraries will be closed on Monday, July 5 and will resume regular hours on Tuesday, July 6.

Animal Services and Shelter

Animal Services and the Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center will be closed on Monday, July 5 and will resume regular hours on Tuesday, July 6. To report an animal-related non-emergency, call (940) 349-8181 and select option 8. In case of an emergency, dial 911.

Parks and Recreation

On July 3, the Denton Civic Center will be open until noon for July Jubilee activities. Water Works Park, Civic Center Pool, and North Lakes Driving Range will be open for regular operating hours.

On July 4, Water Works Park, Denton Natatorium, and Civic Center Pool will be open. The Civic Center Pool has $1 admission all day. All other facilities will be closed.

Denia Rec Center, MLK Jr. Rec Center, Denton Senior Center, Denton Civic Center, and Goldfield Tennis Center will be closed on Monday, July 5.

The following facilities will be open with regular operating hours on Monday, July 5: Water Works Park, Civic Center Pool, Denton Natatorium, North Lakes Driving Range, and North Lakes Rec Center, including their group exercise classes.

Public Safety

Public safety personnel will be on duty during the holiday. The Denton Police Department non-emergency number is (940) 349-8181. In case of an emergency, dial 911.

Utilities

Customer Service will be closed on Monday, July 5. To report a utility service emergency, call utilities dispatch at (940) 349-7000.

Solid Waste and Recycling

There will be no curbside trash, recycling, home chemical, or yard collections on Monday, July 5. Services will resume on Tuesday, July 6. Collections will be pushed one-day throughout the week.

The City of Denton Landfill will be open 7 a.m. to noon on July 5.

The Home Chemical Collection Drop-off location and Reuse Store will be closed Monday, July 5.

Airport

Airport administrative offices will be closed on Monday, July 5. The air traffic control tower will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the airfield will remain open 24 hours per day. Flight services will be available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the holiday.
