Denton, TX – Keep Denton Beautiful (KDB) is calling on community members to participate in the 36th Annual Great American Cleanup (GAC), Denton’s largest and longest-standing community beautification event, scheduled for Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Event Details and Registration
This event, a cornerstone of community engagement and environmental stewardship in Denton, invites volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to contribute to the cleaning of the city’s parks, trails, neighborhoods, and waterways. Interested individuals and groups are encouraged to register by Wednesday, March 13, at the official website, with the option for walk-up registration available at the Denton Civic Center starting at 8 a.m. on the day of the cleanup.
Cleanup Sites and Supplies
Volunteers will be assigned specific cleanup sites, with assignments provided by March 19, ensuring an organized and effective citywide effort. Participants are promised free supplies including trash bags, recycling bags, gloves, litter pick-up sticks, and official 2024 Great American Cleanup T-shirts, subject to availability.
Volunteer Appreciation Party
Following the cleanup, an appreciation party will be held at the Denton Civic Center, featuring free lunch, entertainment, educational booths, and activities for all ages. Prizes will be awarded in categories such as the largest group of volunteers, most bags collected, and oddest item found.

The GAC represents a significant push towards maintaining Denton’s beauty and vibrancy, part of a national initiative led by Keep America Beautiful and Keep Texas Beautiful.
