The City Auditor’s Office is inviting residents to participate in a survey to determine which potential audit projects should be prioritized for the coming year. A list of ten potential audit projects, identified based on previous work, is available for review. Residents are encouraged to rank these projects from most to least important through an online survey form.
The potential audit projects are:
- Simply Sustainable Programs: Including incentive programs and goal progress.
- Employee Performance Management: Including performance evaluation and corrective action.
- Homelessness Response: Including assistance programs, enforcement activities, and regional resource availability.
- Public Works Maintenance: Including streets and drainage asset condition monitoring, maintenance, and construction.
- Animal Services Operations: Including animal shelter care, animal control compliance, and fee collection.
- Airport Operations: Including revenue collection and contract compliance.
- Fire Department Overtime: Including calculation accuracy and process consistency.
- Volunteer Management: Including volunteer recruitment, retention, and risk management.
- Language Accessibility: Including accessibility of key community programs and services for residents who speak languages other than English.
- Tourism Initiatives: Including hotel occupancy tax usage and marketing activities.
The results of the survey will be presented to the City Council during the Work Session on July 23, 2024. This initiative aims to ensure that the audit projects undertaken by the City Auditor align with the community’s concerns and interests.
Residents are urged to take part in this opportunity to influence the city’s auditing focus and contribute to transparent and accountable governance.
