Alert Denton, Discuss Denton, Engage Denton, Improving Denton…what’s the difference?!

If you live in Denton—which we hope you do!—we want to make sure you are engaged and in the know about all that’s going on in your local government! To do that, we’ve developed a number of interactive tools to help you stay informed and connected with City staff and your local community. While the names may sound similar, each of these unique tools serves a different purpose in making sure you can conveniently stay plugged in. Learn more about each one below!

Alert Denton – the City’s emergency notification platform powered by Everbridge.

Sign up for emergency alerts like storms, tornados, floods, boil water notices, and more. When you sign up and create an account, be sure to opt into or out of phone calls, text messages, or emails. You can select what sort of things you want alerts for and also set up quiet hours. Just because there’s a tornado at 3 a.m. doesn’t mean you have to know about it (but you probably should!).

Discuss Denton – the City’s online engagement platform dedicated to City-wide projects.

On Discuss Denton, you can see some of the long-term projects going on around town, like the Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan, or how to improve our Animal Services. Each project has ways for you to interact—take part in a survey, show pictures of what you want, see timelines, and talk to staff directly! This is the place where you can voice your opinions, and your input can truly make an impact on a variety of projects, programs, and issues that affect Denton.

Engage Denton – the City’s one-stop service request app! This is available on both Android and iPhones.

Download this app on your phone and you can let us know about issues you may come across while living in Denton. Pothole? Streetlight out? Tree fall down? There are so many ways we’re happy to help—just let us know!

Improving Denton – a one-stop site for construction and improvement project updates managed by the City of Denton.

Yes, we know we have a lot of construction in Denton. That’s why we’ve put together a lot of great information all in one place: Improving Denton. This online hub features detailed project pages for City-managed major infrastructure projects, weekly street closure reports, construction related community resources, and interactive tools for you to share your input and questions directly with Construction Project Managers and City staff.

Visit www.cityofdenton.com to explore all of these tools and stay informed on the latest from the City of Denton!
