Tree Giveaway
We have 700 trees that we want to give you, a Denton resident (only City of Denton residents for this program). Each household can get one free tree, so plan wisely!
Registration for the Tree Giveaway opens on Oct. 1, and if past years are any indication… the spots will fill up very fast. Set a phone/Alexa/email reminder right now!
You will need to register on the Parks and Rec online catalog for the giveaway, which means you will need an account. If you haven’t ever created an account, then now is a great time to do that, so you don’t get tripped up the day of and miss your chance! Click here for step-by-step account creation instructions.

Tree Rebates
(yeah- we give YOU money when you buy an approved tree, we’re nice like that)
The short of it is, you buy an approved tree and then apply for a rebate between Oct. 1 and May 15. Boom. Cash in your pocket. Oxygen for Denton.

To prioritize plantings in response to tree loss due to Winter Storm Uri and the Emerald Ash Borer, we are incentivizing planting bigger trees with a tiered rebate.
• 5-gallon – $50
• 13-gallon – $100
• 35-gallon – $250
There is a maximum of five trees per residence for trees of 5-gallon or 13-gallon size, or two trees of 35-gallon size. The cost per tree must be equal to or greater than the amount of the rebate category selection and must not exceed $500 per applicant.
