Update – Due to inclement weather, the planned traffic lane shifts for Mayhill Road are rescheduled for today, Thursday, Feb. 13, beginning at 11 a.m. An updated alert is included below.

Weather permitting, Tuesday, Feb. 11 beginning at 9 a.m., northbound traffic on Mayhill Road from north of McKinney Street to US 380 will shift to the newly paved lanes. The traffic shift is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. the same day. During this time, one lane of traffic will be open at all times in each direction. The northbound and southbound lane closures will continue to allow crews to safely continue work on the median, sidewalks, parkway, and driveways.

The traffic signals will be in flashing mode at the following intersections: Mayhill Road at Russell Newman Boulevard, Mayhill Road at Blagg Road, and Mayhill Road at Prominence Parkway The traffic signals will transition to the red-yellow-green format once the traffic switch is completed. Blagg Road will also be reopened to traffic during this traffic shift.

In the event inclement weather conditions prohibit crews from completing the traffic shifts as scheduled on Tuesday, Feb. 11, they will be rescheduled to Friday, Feb. 14, and you will receive an updated traffic alert.

Following the shift, crews will continue pavement marking, striping, signage, and median improvements as part of the Mayhill Road project. The project is in the final phase of construction and is expected to be substantially complete by the end of the month.

Signage alerting motorists of the lane shifts and traffic control flaggers are in place. Please use caution when traveling in the area. Delays and backups are possible so motorist are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Visit improvingdenton.com for more information on City planned construction and improvements.
