Like daylight savings time, Denton Parks & Recreation volunteer opportunities have sprung into spring. We’re ready to coach those kiddos, plan Senior Center programming, and get those outdoors all beautiful.

Denia Wildflower Demonstration Garden Workdays

Help mulch, prune, and weed at the Denia garden, a Texas native plant, grass, and wildflower demonstration garden. Keep Denton Beautiful provides gloves, tools, water, and instruction.

  • Dates: March 20, April 10, May 8

Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center

We welcome volunteers to help in the raised garden beds and with light maintenance on our trails. Special senior volunteer dates available.

  • Dates: April 23, May 22

Mountain Bike Trail Workdays

Assist with clearing the trails, no experience necessary! Bring your own gloves and tools. This opportunity is best for volunteers 12+ years of age. These volunteers are literally creating this new feature.

Tree Relocation Pilot Program

Preserve Post Oak and Blackjack Oaks in this pilot program. We will safely remove the trees from the Eagle Creek Development and then replant them elsewhere. Hard work, requiring bending and kneeling.

Meetup Cleanups are cleanups that are completed when it works best for you! Our volunteer coordinator will help you set up with a spot and supplies. You can coordinate a small group or head out solo. Email Carly Weld, carly.weld@cityofdenton.com, to schedule your cleanup.
