DENTON, TX — Denton’s distinctive charm and historical landmarks are set to be immortalized on the MONOPOLY board with the announcement of the MONOPOLY: Denton Edition, launching in early fall 2024. Top Trumps USA, associated with Winning Moves International and licensed by the esteemed Hasbro, is on a quest to feature prominent Denton businesses and nonprofits in this custom edition.

Replacing the classic Atlantic City locations with notable Denton establishments, this edition aims to reflect the city’s unique vibe — from its university roots to the bustling live entertainment scene. Sarah Bowman from Top Trumps recently provided insights into the selection process for the MONOPOLY board, stating that public suggestions are paramount in choosing the 22 property squares, with a focus on locations that are credible and enduring to ensure they resonate with families for decades.

The game will showcase Denton’s character through custom Community Chest and Chance cards and MONOPOLY money. Sarah noted that contributions from local historians have been instrumental in the past for creating city-specific cards, adding a layer of authenticity to the game. She also emphasized the importance of featuring locations that paint a well-rounded depiction of Denton’s allure.

In terms of community involvement, there will be an exciting launch event in early fall 2024. Local retailers interested in distributing the game are encouraged to make contact via denton@toptrumps.com. Moreover, local charities will not only be featured in the game but will also be gifted free boards, which they can use for fundraising, highlighting the community’s spirit.

Availability is slated for various retail outlets, including CVS and Amazon, and select Denton stores. The nomination process for the board’s content is open until the end of January 2024, with a finalization of the board to follow thereafter.

For more details on how to get involved and to submit suggestions, the public is invited to reach out through the provided email or visit Top Trumps’ official website.
