As the Christmas and New Year’s holidays approach, Denton residents are advised of several city facility closures and service adjustments. Regular operations will pause and then resume on specific dates noted below, to accommodate the observed holidays.

City Facility Closures and Adjustments

  • Airport: Administrative offices closed on Dec. 24, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1. The air traffic control tower will remain operational from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the airfield is open 24/7. For assistance, contact Airport Operations at (940) 349-7722.
  • Animal Services: Closed on Dec. 24, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1. Regular hours resume the day after each closure. For non-emergencies, call (940) 349-8181; for emergencies, dial 911.
  • Libraries: Closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1. Libraries close early at 6 p.m. on Dec. 23 and Dec. 31. Regular hours resume on the following day after each closure.
  • Municipal Courts: Closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1. Normal operations resume the following day. Online payments remain available 24/7.
  • Parks and Recreation: Various centers and facilities closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1 with early closures at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31. Specific hours are listed for certain facilities like the North Lakes Driving Range and others.
  • Public Safety: Services will remain operational. Non-emergency number: (940) 349-8181. In case of an emergency, dial 911.
  • Solid Waste & Recycling: No collection on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Collection services will resume the following day.
  • Utilities: Closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1. For service emergencies, contact Utilities dispatch at (940) 349-7000.
  • Denton 311: Available via app or by calling 311 or (940) 349-7311.
