DENTON, TX, Nov. 5, 2021 – The City of Denton has implemented an improved eComment (electronic comment) feature for public meetings that streamlines the process for commenting on individual agenda items.

The new user-friendly feature can be accessed on the Public Meetings & Agenda page (www.cityofdenton.com/PublicMeetings). Starting Monday, Nov. 8, meetings with opportunities for virtual (electronic) public comment will have a link beside the agenda for “eComment”. The eComment will allow citizens to register their support or opposition of an item and leave a comment. The first time residents comment, they will be invited to create an account to enter the registration information that is collected for public comments. Once the account is created, residents will be able to click the “Comment” icon located below each eligible item they wish to comment on. City Council or the Board members for the applicable public meeting will receive email notifications for each online comment submitted.

The image below shows an example of where the new eComment link will be located beside the agenda links.
