Closures Extended Until Monday, May 4, or Until Further Notice
DENTON, TX, April 1, 2020 – In alignment with Gov. Greg Abbott’s new Executive Order (GA-14), the City of Denton has announced the extension of City operational changes to minimize the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
City facilities will remain closed until Monday, May 4, or until further notice, while City staff continue to serve the public remotely where possible.
Closed facilities include:

City Hall (215 E. McKinney St.)

City Hall East, including Customer Service (601 E. Hickory St.)

Development Services Center (215 W. Hickory St.)

Service Center (901 Texas St.)

Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center, open by appointment only (3717 N. Elm St.)

All Library branches, except for book drop-offs (3020 N. Locust St., 502 Oakland St., 3228 Teasley Ln.)

All Parks and Recreation facilities, except Civic Center Pool showers and restrooms, which are open from Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This includes the closure of all playgrounds, park restrooms, tennis courts, basketball courts, dog parks, the skate park, and the disc golf course.
All non-essential Municipal Court proceedings and all City-sponsored events and programming are also suspended until Monday, May 4, or until further notice.
As the City continues to monitor the impact of COVID-19, these periods may be extended, and additional announcements may be made.
