General Information

Holiday Friday Staff Reports – City facilities will close December 24–25 for Christmas and January 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day, and no Friday Staff Reports will be issued for the next two weeks due to the holiday schedule.

Alternative Work Week Pilot Program – Beginning January 2, 2026, administrative offices will close to the public at noon on Fridays under a one-year pilot while employees maintain standard work hours, essential services and quality-of-life facilities keep regular schedules, digital services remain available, and the program will be evaluated through spring 2027.

Monthly Financial Reports – The October 2025 Monthly Financial Report is available, providing year-to-date information on revenues, expenditures, and budget variances.

Denton City Public Facility Corporation – The DCPFC Board approved policies and procedures on December 16, 2025, enabling the corporation to begin accepting partnership applications, with materials now available online.

ECA/TCRF Rate Update – After a first-quarter review of the Energy Cost Adjustment, Large Load ECA, and Transmission Cost Recovery Factor, staff recommended no rate changes, and the Public Utilities Board reviewed the update without recommending action.

Mayor’s Pet Spotlight – A three-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat named Madam Mayor, currently in foster care after her kittens were adopted, is available through Denton Animal Services and is described as best suited for a calm home, potentially with older children.

Council Member Requests

Tree Survey at North Lakes Trail – Tree tagging in the North Lakes neighborhood is part of design work for a Safe Routes to School project funded by a $5 million regional grant to add sidewalks, bike lanes, and related improvements near Newton Rayzor Elementary, with consultants conducting surveys, resident contact planned before future fieldwork, tree preservation prioritized in design, and project proposals expected by August 2026.
