The Center for Women Entrepreneurs (CWE) at Texas Woman’s University has announced the recipients of its 2025 Texas Rural Woman Grant. The program, managed by the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership, has awarded $10,000 each to 10 women-owned businesses in rural Texas to support their growth and sustainability.
Now in its third year, the program has increased its funding to better aid women entrepreneurs in overcoming challenges such as limited capital access and support networks. Grant recipients come from various industries, with funds earmarked for equipment purchases, remodeling, inventory expansion, marketing, and operational improvements.
Tracy Irby, director of the CWE, emphasized the broader significance of these grants. “Rural women entrepreneurs face unique challenges, from limited access to capital to fewer support networks. This grant is about more than funding — it’s about leveling the playing field,” Irby stated. “With these grants, we’re not only backing strong business ideas but also fueling economic impact in communities across Texas. These women are creating jobs, meeting local needs and showing what’s possible with the right support.”
