The City of Denton is conducting a comprehensive community-wide survey to get resident perspectives about the community and available services. Community feedback is extremely important to the City for planning and decision-making purposes and helps us improve City services and the quality of life in Denton.

The 2022 Citizen Survey will be available online Tuesday, May 24 through Monday, June 6. Residents are encouraged to complete the survey by visiting the City’s website at www.cityofdenton.com/communitysurvey

Over the past few weeks, the City has been working with an independent consultant, Polco, to develop the survey. This instrument allows the City to compare results and benchmark residents’ opinions against other communities across the country. The survey includes questions about quality of life, important characteristics of the community, services provided by the City of Denton, and priorities for the future. Responses are completely anonymous. The survey is available online in English and Spanish. In addition, 1,600 surveys were mailed to randomly selected households to get a representative sample of the Denton population and the City asks those selected in the random sample to complete the mailed version of the survey.

Most recently, the City has completed surveys in 2018 and 2017. Results of those Community Surveys (formerly named Citizen Survey) can also be found at www.cityofdenton.com/communitysurvey. The format of the 2022 Community Survey closely resembles the 2018 version to allow staff to track the trends over time. Preliminary results from the 2022 survey will be available mid- to late-June.
