DENTON — Texas Woman’s University (TWU) is celebrating high rankings for its occupational therapy and physical therapy graduate programs, as recognized by the 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s ‘Best Graduate Schools.’ The university’s occupational therapy program was ranked No. 1 in Texas and tied for 24th nationally, placing it 15 spots ahead of any other program in the state. The physical therapy program achieved the No. 2 rank in Texas and tied for 28th nationally, outperforming its nearest Texas competitor by 14 places. These accolades place TWU’s occupational therapy program in the top 8% of university graduate programs nationwide, making it the leading program amongst seven ranked institutions in Texas. Meanwhile, its physical therapy program ranks in the top 10% nationally and second among 10 programs in Texas.
The rankings were announced as part of U.S. News & World Report’s annual evaluation, which assesses 282 doctoral and master’s programs in occupational therapy and 264 doctoral programs in physical therapy at regionally accredited institutions. The methodology incorporates a variety of metrics aimed at measuring the quality of faculty, research output, student achievements, and post-graduate outcomes.
TWU’s recognition extends beyond these two fields; its graduate programs in healthcare administration and speech-language pathology were also included in the national rankings. These achievements underscore TWU’s commitment to excellence in health sciences education, reflecting the university’s focus on preparing students for impactful careers in their fields.
