Texas Woman’s University (TWU) has received praise from U.S. News & World Report for its graduate online programs in education and nursing, as well as its bachelor’s online programs in business. This recognition places these programs among the best in the nation, as detailed in the publication’s 2026 “Best Online Programs” edition.

The rankings consider multiple factors, including program effectiveness and design for distance learners. The evaluation assesses the services available to remote students, technologies used, and best practices in course delivery.

TWU’s online graduate education programs were ranked in the top 20% nationally, and sixth among 25 Texas institutions. The online master’s program in nursing was placed in the top half of similar programs across the country, while the online bachelor’s programs in business also secured a spot in the top half nationally.

In addition, TWU’s Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship was recognized among the best online MBA programs, ranking in the top half within Texas. Overall, TWU’s online bachelor’s programs were noted for their quality among the nation’s best.

For its 2026 edition, U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 1,850 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at regionally accredited institutions.
