It’s officially the holiday season, and we have some great ways to celebrate coming up!

Breakfast with the Grinch | Dec. 11 from 10 a.m.-noon

MLK Jr. Rec Center, 1300 Wilson St.

For only $5 you can have Breakfast (and pictures) with the Grinch! His heart has grown and he’s ready to celebrate with kiddos. There will also be crafts, carnival games, and more. The entry fee includes breakfast and one picture; each additional picture is $2.

The Denton Parks Foundation is offering scholarships to 100 kids to attend! Please email Broderick to register for the scholarship.

Cookies & Cocoa Drive-Thru | Dec. 11 beginning at 5 p.m.

Civic Center parking lot, 321 E. McKinney St.

Come by and let us treat you! Drive-thru the Civic Center parking lot, and we will serve you in your car with one cookie and cocoa per person.

Supplies are limited and will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Denton Fire Department will be there in their Santa truck as well!

Kwanzaa | Dec. 29 from 7-9 p.m.

MLK Jr. Rec Center, 1300 Wilson St.

Kwanzaa is an annual celebration of the African culture and is celebrated from Dec. 26-Jan. 1. We’re excited to host our first Kwanza celebration and invite the community to learn and celebrate with us. Everyone is welcome!

We will light seven candles, representing the seven principles. There will be seven brief presentations, entertainment, and vendors.
