DENTON, TX, June 30, 2025 – The City of Denton will adjust operations in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Most facilities will close on Friday, July 4, and resume normal operations on Saturday, July 5.

Closed Facilities

  • Airport Administrative Offices: Closed on July 4. Air traffic control tower will remain open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the airfield is open 24/7.
  • Animal Services and Shelter: Closed on July 4. Normal hours resume July 5. Report non-emergencies to (940) 349-8181. Emergencies dial 911.
  • Libraries: All closed on July 4. Resume July 5.
  • Municipal Courts: Closed July 4. Online and phone payments available 24/7. Regular hours resume July 7.
  • Parks and Recreation: Multiple centers closed on July 4, including the Civic Center and recreation centers. Regular hours resume July 5.
  • Tennis and Pickleball Center: Closed on July 4; reopen July 5.

Open Facilities

  • Water Works Park, Civic Center Pool, Denton Natatorium: Open on July 4.
  • North Lakes Driving Range: Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 4; normal hours resume July 5.

Public Services

  • Public Safety Personnel: On duty during the holiday. Non-emergency number is (940) 349-8181. In emergencies, dial 911.
  • Solid Waste & Recycling: No curbside collection impact on July 4. Full schedule available here.
  • Utilities Customer Service: Closed July 4; reopen normal hours July 5. Report service emergencies to (940) 349-7000.
