Dr. Kinshuk, the esteemed Dean of the College of Information at the University of North Texas (UNT), has been elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors for the iSchools organization. This notable consortium, dedicated to advancing the field of information into the 21st century, comprises over 120 university information schools globally, including UNT’s College of Information.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Kinshuk stated his commitment to fostering the growth of the information science discipline. His goals include enhancing the quality of doctoral programs, increasing opportunities for graduates, supporting early career researchers, and initiating efforts to unify information science schools across different regions for better collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Dr. Jiangping Chen, chair of the information science department at UNT, praised Kinshuk’s leadership and contributions to the College of Information. She highlighted his role in advancing student success, securing grants, and encouraging scholarly publications. Acknowledging his vision and leadership in learning and information technologies, Chen is confident that Kinshuk’s participation in the iSchools Board will significantly contribute to its impact on society.

Kinshuk joined UNT in 2016, bringing extensive experience from previous roles, including holding a prestigious research chair in Canada and serving as a professor and associate dean at Athabasca University. His academic background includes a bachelor’s degree from Engineering College Kota, a master’s from Strathclyde University, and a Ph.D. from De Montfort University. Kinshuk’s research focuses on innovative online and distance learning systems, with interests in learning analytics, mobile learning, cognitive profiling, and interactive technologies.
