Texas Woman’s University (TWU) has been ranked as one of the nation’s top colleges by two leading financial publications, the Wall Street Journal and Forbes. The recognition highlights the university’s growing reputation for excellence among over 4,000 four-year institutions across the United States.

In the WSJ/College Pulse 2025 Best Colleges in the U.S. list, TWU was named among the top 500 institutions. The university secured a notable position, ranking fifth out of the 18 public universities in Texas included in the list. Texas is home to 39 public universities in total.

TWU also performed well in key categories in the WSJ/College Pulse rankings, being placed third in Texas for social mobility and value, fourth for student experience, and fifth for graduate salaries, a metric focused on income earned after graduation. These rankings are heavily weighted on student outcomes, which make up 70% of the score and consider factors such as graduate salaries and graduation rates. The learning environment and diversity were also considered, accounting for 20% and 10% of the score, respectively.

In addition to the Wall Street Journal recognition, TWU was named to Forbes’ America’s Top Colleges list. Among the 24 Texas institutions on the list, TWU was recognized for its alumni success, return on investment, and leadership and entrepreneurial achievements. The Forbes rankings take into account alumni salaries, student debt, and graduation rates, among other factors.

This national recognition reinforces Texas Woman’s University’s position as a leading institution for both academic quality and value in higher education.
