DENTON — Texas Woman’s University (TWU) is set to host its second annual Pre-Health Career Fair, an event designed to connect students with a range of healthcare postgraduate programs and schools. Scheduled for April 8, 2025, the event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the southwest ballroom of Hubbard Hall’s Student Union.

The career fair offers a unique opportunity for students interested in health professions to engage with more than 90 exhibitors, including medical schools from both nearby states and as far as California and the East Coast. Participants will not only learn about medical degree pathways but also explore programs in dentistry, veterinary medicine, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, chiropractic education, and naturopathy.

Ann Davis, PhD, who serves as division head for TWU’s Undergraduate Studies in Biology and faculty director for the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP), highlighted the diversity of programs that will be showcased. “For students who have an interest in the health professions, this is a great place to come because we have all different kinds of programs,” Davis remarked. She emphasized that the event will cover not only traditional healthcare careers but also related fields such as biomedical sciences and STEM research.

The fair will also feature employers offering scribing positions and representatives from the U.S. Army promoting their Health Profession Scholarship Program. This program provides students with a tuition-free professional school experience in exchange for military service, presenting a viable option for those concerned about post-graduation debt.

Student attendance is free and requires no prior registration. Complementary buffet lunch will be provided for participants and exhibitors. The return of the Pre-Health Career Fair comes after its inaugural event drew significant interest, nearly occupying the entire ballroom space. This year, further expansion is anticipated with the inclusion of TWU’s own programs such as the Nutrition Department and select graduate programs from the School of the Sciences.

Additionally, representatives from the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP) will be present to inform Texas resident pre-medical students about this supportive pathway. JAMP offers a limited eligibility window for sophomores, and students interested in applying must adhere to specific criteria available on the program’s website.

For more details on the Pre-Health Career Fair, students can visit the official TWU Spring 2025 Pre-Health Fair website. Further information on TWU’s pre-health resources can be accessed https://twu.edu/arts-sciences/student-resources/pre-health-resources/.
