The Denton FD will be honoring retired DFD Captain Ed Tomlin after his funeral today with a procession through downtown, briefly pausing at Central Fire Station around 2:30 for a final farewell salute.

From City of Denton Fire Department Facebook “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of retired Fire Captain Ed Tomlin. Captain Tomlin was a amazing firefighter and mentor to so many firefighters today. We stand on the shoulders of giants, and Captain Tomlin was one of those giants.

We ask for your thoughts and prayers for Captain Tomlin’s family, friends, and the Denton Fire Department.”

He was employed by the Denton Fire Department for 41 years, serving as a captain for over 35 years.

Visitation will be held 12:00PM-1:00PM, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Denton Bible Church in Denton, TX. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00PM with James Reid officiating. Burial will be at Tomlin Cemetery in Arlington, TX.
