You are invited to join the Visual Arts Society of Texas (VAST), for a demonstration of painting on silk and other textile surfaces by Artist Mindy Faubion on November 3rd from 6:45 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center (PAAC – 400 East Hickory St, Denton, TX), and on Facebook.
Mindy will demonstrate how to paint on various textile surfaces with different dyes, paints and mediums that are suited for the specific textiles (mainly silk). She will have three surfaces stretched and ready for painting. Attendees will have a chance to try the painting techniques on two stretched pieces of silk.
VAST will then give away the large painted piece and have a drawing for the small piece.
*Note to attendees: The PAAC will have socially distanced seating and they require that you wear a face covering.
