Denton, Oct. 21, 2024 — Texas Woman’s University (TWU) has been honored by the Professional Grounds Management Society with a 2024 Green Star Awards® Honor Award, recognizing the university’s exceptional landscape management. The award was presented on October 17 during the society’s annual awards celebration at the PGMS 2024 Annual Conference ‘Transform,’ held in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Green Star Awards are prestigious accolades given to educational institutions for outstanding landscape management. This year, 15 institutions, including TWU, were acknowledged with awards, ranging from the Grand Award to the Honor and Sustainability Awards. TWU’s recognition falls under the mid-size college category. This is the university’s eighth honor from the society since 2007.

Robert Trevino, TWU’s manager of landscape operations, attributed the award to the hard work and dedication of the university’s grounds team. ‘This achievement is the result of countless hours of hard work and dedication from our grounds team members, whose relentless commitment to detail and skill continuously keeps our campus landscape in tip-top shape,’ he commented.

The recognition highlights the ongoing efforts of TWU to maintain and enhance its campus environment, benefiting students, staff, and the Denton community alike.
