DENTON, TX – Denton is set to become an even more vibrant community with the introduction of Park and Play, a brand-new Mobile Recreation Unit designed to bring fitness and recreational activities directly to neighborhoods throughout the city.

Park and Play emerges in response to the contemporary challenge of finding time for recreational activities amidst the fast-paced nature of modern life. This novel solution promises not just activities, but a diverse range of events that cater to fitness enthusiasts, outdoor adventurers, and individuals simply looking to enjoy leisurely activities alike.

The Mobile Recreation Unit is distinguished by its variety, offering sports and games in designated play areas, enabling residents to partake in their favorite physical activities. Community events and local gatherings foster connections among residents, while arts and crafts pop-ups ensure there are offerings for every interest and age group.

Residents can look forward to a series of upcoming events including the City Block Party at Denton Civic Center & Quakertown Park on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m., Twilight Tunes at Wolff’s Park on Industrial St. on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m., and several Park & Play Pop-ups at various locations. The program promises ongoing engagement with more events being planned to keep the community active and socially connected.

  • Twilight Tunes at Wolff’s Park on Industrial St.; Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
  • Park & Play Pop-up at South Lakes Park; Oct. 14 from 10 a.m.- noon
     Join us at the large pavilion for our first pop-up; and look for the Park and Play signs!
  • Halloween Harvest @ Denia Rec Center; Oct. 21 from 5-7 p.m.
  • Park and Play Pop-up at Quakertown Park; Nov. 11 10 a.m.- noon
