Looking for healthcare resources in Denton? This is your chance to discover the wealth of options available right in your neighborhood! The Denton community is excited to invite you to the annual Health Fair, a fantastic opportunity to learn about local healthcare services, preventative measures, and the many resources available to support your health and well-being.

Co-hosted by the Martin L. King, Jr. Recreation Center and the American Legion Hall Senior Center, the Health Fair is a collaborative endeavor, with organizations such as the Denton County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Healthcare Sidekick, and Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center contributing their expertise and resources.

A Wealth of Topics Covered

The Health Fair has widened its scope this year, encompassing a more diverse range of health-related topics. From Healthy Cooking to Cardiovascular Health, Mental Health Resources, and Dermatology/Skin Care, there’s something for everyone. Notable speakers will host mini-sessions to delve into each topic, providing valuable insights and practical advice to attendees.

In addition to these informative sessions, the Health Fair will also feature a variety of vendors from the health field. Among them, you’ll find representatives from the Foster Grandparents Program, Legal Aid of North West Texas, Denton County Public Health, and Aetna Better Health of TX. These organizations will offer a plethora of resources for families, veterans, and persons with disabilities.

Free Health Checks and More

But that’s not all! Participants can avail of free blood pressure checks, cholesterol checks, and more. To make the most of these services, each participant will receive a health passport. This handy tool helps keep track of medical information, screening results, and more, encouraging a proactive approach to personal health. Additionally, collecting stamps from each booth in the health passport will grant participants entry into a raffle for exciting prizes.

The first 300 attendees will also receive fun-filled goodie bags chock-full of health information. And don’t worry, we’ve got something to keep the kids entertained too – free Bounce Houses and face painting will ensure they have a blast while you explore the Health Fair.
