Pending Council Requests Work Session Topics – The Council Work Session on November 7 will discuss the proposal to enhance the efficiency of the nomination process for city boards and commissions by establishing a specific timeframe for nominations. This session follows Ordinance No. 23-1431.

Friday Report Distribution for Veteran’s Day – Due to the Veteran’s Day closure of City of Denton offices on November 10, the weekly Friday Report will be distributed on November 9 instead.

FY 22-23 Fourth Quarter Council Meeting Statistics – Statistics from July 1 to September 30, 2023, show the usage of Spanish translation services and Tele-Town Hall public comments by phone during regular City Council meetings starting at 6:30 p.m. Live and on-demand viewing figures for both English and Spanish broadcasts are provided, along with the duration of each meeting broadcast.

CapitalEdge Updates – CapitalEdge has been engaged in multiple initiatives for the City of Denton, including analyzing tax incentives from the Inflation Reduction Act and exploring financing options through the EPA’s WIFIA program. Their focus includes protecting funding for community programs, opposing mandates affecting airports and local telecommunications authority, addressing supply chain issues, and implementing federal infrastructure legislation.

Parks and Recreation Receives TxDOT Grant – The City of Denton secured a $10.97 million grant from TXDOT for the Pecan Creek Trail, covering 80% of construction costs, complemented by city funds. The project is strategically positioned to be shovel-ready to compete effectively for grants.
