DENTON, TX, April 19, 2021 – As part of our commitment to transparency, Chief of Police Frank Dixon has asked the FBI Dallas Division to conduct an independent review of the facts in the officer-involved shooting death of Darius Tarver.

The FBI has accepted this request. FBI agents who specialize in evaluating evidence will work alongside the U.S. Attorney’s Office to determine if a federal investigation should be opened.

This is a detailed and thorough process. While the review will be conducted as expeditiously as possible, it will require patience until its resolution is determined.
