Alex Souris Trio

Born and raised in Denton, Texas, Alex Souris is a drummer, composer, and educator working in and around the Dallas music community. He studies jazz at the globally-recognized University of North Texas, where he was awarded a music scholarship and played in the GRAMMY-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band under the direction of Alan Baylock. While at UNT, Alex has had the opportunity to perform with artists such as vocalist Carmen Bradford (Count Basie Orchestra), bassist Arthur Barrow (Frank Zappa), and Melissa Aldana. He is greatly indebted to his mentors Ed Soph, Matt Young, Quincy Davis, Jose Aponte, and Tanya Darby.
